Demons are agents of the kingdom of darkness that actively carry out Satan's agenda against people. Satan's work is to steal, kill and destroy.
Every Believer Has Power Over Demons
We overcome the powers of darkness through prayer. Prayer is a weapon.2 Corinthians 10:4-5[4](For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)[5]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; There are different types of prayers according to God's Word that can be used to counter and eliminate devils and their stints. Jesus Christ gave every believer authority over powers of darkness. Luke 10:19 [19]Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Mark 16:17-18 [17]And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18]They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
It's important to note that it's not by our might or ability but by the Spirit of God. We overcome the devil by the Word of God and by the blood of Jesus. Not by our strength or power.
You can overcome all demonic limitations through prayer
My Bishop says that "Prayer is work but works." I can strongly affirm without a doubt that prayer works. Prayer is the most powerful weapon at every believer's disposal. We ought to pray always. Jesus Christ woke every day before the sunrise and prayed. Mark 1:35[35]And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
So how do we pray to overcome demonic limitations?
1. Matthew 18:19-20 [19]Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. [20]For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
The prayer of agreement is powerful. It breaks the limitations of demons. Look for someone who believes in Jesus Christ and is born again and ask them to agree with you in prayer. Two are better than one. If you are married, it's a blessing to pray together with your spouse in agreement.
2. You must have faith to break demonic limitations.
Mark 11:24 [24]Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Hebrews 11:1-2 [1]Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [2]For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3. You must confess and repent all your known and unknown sins. Repentance destroys every accusation of Satan upon you. It removes the foothold on which the devils stand.
Proverbs 28:13 [13]He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Acts 2:38
[38]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
2 Chronicles 7:14 [14]If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Forgive everyone who has wronged you. Release everyone who has caused you pain or heartache and ask God to heal you. Dedicate yourself to God and ask Him to consecrate and sanctify you with the blood of Jesus Christ. Many people fail to do this and therefore become powerless before their enemy.
4. Praise and worship the power of the kingdom of darkness over our lives. Praise attracts God's presence. No demon can withstand God's presence or glory.
2 Chronicles 20:22 [22]And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
Praise and worship is an offering to God.
Hebrews 13:15 [15]By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Praise and worship activate miracles, signs, and wonders. Praise guarantees freedom. Demonic chains will break as you offer praises to God.
Acts 16:25-27 [25]And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. [26]And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. [27]And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
Praise God with a revelation. David understood the secret of praising God. God defended him in every battle and gave him victory. Praising God will break every demonic over your life.
Psalms 5:11-12 [11]But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. [12]For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Psalms 64: 10 [10]The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
